Powertrain Inspection

The powertrain is one of the most important subsystems in your vehicle. Today’s cars have dozens of microprocessors that talk to each other to ensure that vital components work together. CAR MRI 's Powertrain Inspection includes a full engine and transmission computerized diagnostic scan to determine if any computer fault codes and abnormalities exist.

The Powertrain is the heart of your vehicle. CAR MRI 's multipoint inspection includes a performance test drive, full under hood mechanical inspection, and a complete undercarriage review to determine and identify any unforeseen mechanical issues. Our comprehensive reporting tool will include informative and descriptive explanations, including photographs of any mechanical deficiencies and concerns noted. You can trust us to provide you with detailed information and an unbiased report on the health status of your vehicle.

Chassis Inspection

The Chassis houses several vital subsystems in your vehicle that encompasses the braking, steering and suspension systems. The power and energy from your vehicle's engine and transmission is transmitted to the wheels and tires. The energy that's used to move a vehicle down the road must be stopped by the braking system. Modern day vehicles have complex braking systems that are controlled and monitored by a microprocessor called the Anti-Lock Braking module.

The Anti-lock braking system (ABS) plays an important role in monitoring the wheel speed and road conditions such as wet or icy conditions in the event of a panic stop situation. The ABS module also works in conjunction with vehicles equipped with stability traction control and accident avoidance systems. The ABS system should be inspected in conjunction with the mechanical braking components which include your hydraulic brake lines, master cylinder, brake pads and shoes, brake rotors and drums and parking brake system.

The Chassis also includes your vehicles steering and suspension system. This system is made up of dozens of sophisticated components that take all of the wear and tear. Every time you hit a bump or pot hole, the energy is transmitted through your entire vehicle. Your suspension is designed to not only support the weight of your vehicle, it also has the ability to absorb intensive road shock without the wheels losing contact or traction with the road. The suspension system also provides ride comfort and stability while on the road. When these components wear out, not only does it compromise the handling and safety of your vehicle, it has adverse effects on the alignment that results in premature tire erosion.

Tires provide traction for acceleration and stopping as well as comfort for absorbing road shock. Tires also help with the overall efficiency and fuel economy. Tires that are worn, underinflated or mismatched can have negative effects on your vehicle performance.

CAR MRI has state of the art equipment to diagnose and audit the overall condition of the systems and components related to the Chassis.

Body Inspection

CAR MRI uses state of the art diagnostic equipment to evaluate the interior and exterior body components of your vehicle. Today’s vehicles have several microprocessors that control vital interior body control functions such as the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). This includes components such as the front and side air bags, seat belt pre-tensioners and retractors. Other vital interior functions include: climate controls, air conditioning and heater functions. As well, there are many other complex body control module functions such as the power seat modules, power windows and sunroof, door locks, alarm system, and park assist components. So it is important to learn how each component is functioning to avoid future costly repairs.

CAR MRI's exterior body components include an in-depth inspection where each body panel is analyzed with electronic test equipment to determine if there has been any body repair and/or paintwork done. This inspection is followed up by an undercarriage inspection to determine if any frame or uni-body damage is present. Our comprehensive reporting tool will include informative and descriptive explanations, including photos of any deficiencies noted.
